Ajman Municipality bans selling all forms of tobacco for one day

Ajman Municipality announced a ban on selling tobacco of all kinds yesterday morning for 24 hours at ADNOC, ENOC and EPCO fuel stations and a number of retail outlets on the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day” 2018.
Eng. Abdul Razzaq Al Tamimi, Acting Director of the Public Health Department, stated that the department seeks to ban the trading of tobacco on the event on the basis of social responsibility and its concern for the health and safety of the community members by highlighting the health hazards caused by smoking and calling for effective policies to reduce its consumption by the public.
Al Tamimi explained that the initiative witnessed a response from a great deal of shops, which participated in the campaign, reaching to a number of 150 retail stores and hypermarkets and 15 gas stations.
