129 people arrested for violating the isolation period

In an effort to maintain the public health and curb the spread of Coronavirus. The competent authorities have referred 129 violators to the Public Prosecutor who did not adhere to the self-isolation instructions as they were in contact with previously confirmed cases.

According to the Attorney General’s amended Resolution No. 38 of 2020 concerning the penalty and administrative sanctions regulations related to violators of the home isolation, the Head of the Emergency Prosecution explained that “according to Cabinet Resolution No. / 17 / for the year 2020, the home isolation violators will be referred to the Emergency Prosecution, in case of repeated violation for the third time, they will be referred for trial and imprisonment for a period of up to three years or a fine not less than AED 100,000 according to the applicable law.
