A person transmitted the infection to 45 people

Dr. Omar Al-Hammadi, the official spokesman of the new briefing on the developments of “COVID-19”:

• The UAE was able to reach to a high recovery rate of 90%, and a mortality rate of 0.5%, which is among the lowest in the world.

• The UAE leads the world in the total number of medical tests conducted compared to its population, as more than 7.5 million tests were performed since the pandemic outset.

• A person suffered COVID-19 symptoms but did not undergo a test and did not adhere to physical distancing and preventive measures. As a result he transmitted the infection to 45 people of three families, including an elderly woman who suffered from chronic diseases such as Leukemia and kidney failure and died as a result of COVID-19 complications.

• The high rate of recovery in the country is due to the modern and innovative treatment methods, the expansion of the testing scope for early detection of cases, the availability of medical personnel and supplies, the high capacity of hospitals to receive cases, and the availability of the strategic stock of medicine.
