The Dubai Police have recently discussed with representatives from the delivery companies Talabat, Deliveroo, and Careem, ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination to educate delivery drivers on traffic safety and road rules.
Headed by Colonel Essam Ibrahim Al-Awar, Acting Deputy Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, the meeting highlighted the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, and the need to raise awareness of delivery drivers on safety conditions and procedures.
The meeting also tackled issues related to the requirements that must be fulfilled while driving motorcycles, preventive measures for road users, the risks that motorcycle accidents may cause, and the most common violations committed by delivery drivers.
Colonel Al-Awar stressed that adherence to safety procedures would directly contribute to reducing traffic accidents and related deaths, as he briefed the attendees on the most common causes of accidents committed by delivery bicycles over the past period.
It is noteworthy that this meeting is in line with Dubai Police’s keenness to partner with the private sector to develop common solutions aimed at reducing traffic accidents and saving human and material losses.
