Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, the spokesman of the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority:
• The daily tests performed exceeds 150,000 every 24 hours, and the broad response to the national vaccination campaign across the country exceeded 4 million doses to reach the level of acquired immunity.
• The availability of vaccines is one of the most significant achievements of the UAE, as they are provided free of charge in the various centers operating at their maximum capacity. Community members are expected to join hands and take the vaccine to achieve the desired goal of providing it to more than half of the country’s population in the first quarter of this year.
• Since the beginning of the year, more than 30,000 violations were recorded, the most prominent of which are not wearing masks, failure to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures in commercial establishments, lack of physical distancing in public places, exceeding the number of permitted passengers in a car, and random gatherings.
Dr. Farida Al Hosani:
After the announcement of the emergence of new strains of Coronavirus worldwide, the monitoring system and testing mechanism have been developed in the country to ensure the detection of these cases. Accordingly, we call on the community members to follow the preventive and precautionary measures to ensure their safety.
We call on the family members of the elderly and those with chronic diseases to ensure that they receive the vaccine for their health and safety.
The UAE still ranks the second globally on the rate of vaccine distribution per 100 people in the world, reaching 47.37 doses.
