Abu Dhabi police called residents to be cautious after withdrawing cash from ATMs at late hours of the night.
As part of police campaign titled ‘Safe Trip’ to raise awareness about precautionary measures for public and travellers, Abu Dhabi police warns of writing the pin code on the bank’s card or seeking help from strangers after withdrawing the cash to avoid robberies.
Police urged the public to secure their houses when they travel and seek help from a relative or friend to check the house when they travel.
Colonel Dr Hmood Saeed Al Afari, director of Community Police, advised travellers to avoid withdrawing large amount of cash and to be careful from any stranger after withdrawing cash from ATMs.
He pointed out that travellers should secure their houses and locked their cars, and instal an alarm system.
Emirati travellers should contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on 0097180044444 and register in ‘Tawajidi’ service before travel on the ministry website
