During the UAE government media briefing.. UAE announces national celebration protocol

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, the Spokesperson for “NCEMA”:

• With national celebrations around the corner, today we are announcing a new protocol to attend the activities of the Commemoration Day and the 50th UAE National Day.

– The protocol states that all attendees of the event must present negative results of PCR tests conducted less than 96 hours prior to the activity. Temperature must be checked before entry for all attendees.

– The attendance capacity at the event should be set at 80%, with attendees always wearing face masks indoors and in crowded areas, in addition to the adherence to a physical distance of 1.5 metres.

– Members of the same family can stay together without the need to apply the physical distancing rule.

– People of all ages are allowed to attend the event, provided they have received the vaccine more than 14 days ago, got a booster shot or have a green pass status on their Al Hosn application.

– While greeting, we urge the attendees to maintain social distance, avoid shaking hands or hug. When taking photos, we also ask them to keep proper distance.

– Organisers of the event will form specialised teams to ensure that everyone is adhering to the protocol and its guidelines. They will manage the event’s entry and exit points to prevent crowds.

– We urge the organisers to sanitise public areas regularly and install sanitisation stations at the entry and exit of public washrooms.

– We also recommend following up on local authorities’ protocols and strictly adhere to their guidelines during the entire period of national celebrations.

According to Bloomberg Covid Resilience Ranking for October, the UAE has ranked third globally and first regionally in dealing with COVID-19, which reflects the efficiency of its leading model in managing the crisis.

As for the pandemic situation in the country, the healthcare sector continues to conduct PCR tests, provide free vaccination for all eligible members of the society with no exception. This has helped contain the spread of the virus and reduce infections and deaths.

The public should be rest assured that the UAE is on high readiness to deal with the repercussions of the pandemic, and that the healthcare sector continues to ensure the health and safety of all members of the society and all its groups.
