Dubai Criminal Court has charged a fitness trainer with sexually harassing a 17-year-old Arab student while she was in his fitness center in Al Muhaisnah district, forcing her to take off her clothes and trying to take them off himself, claiming that he needed her body measurements to identify her areas of weakness.
The victim told prosecutors that she registered at the center and agreed with a trainer there to train her. Another trainer (the accused) met her while she was leaving the gym and asked her why she joined the center. She told him that she wanted to adjust some areas of her body.
He then asked her to come the next day claiming to know how to help her and identify her needs, he also took her phone number. The next day he called her twice and asked her to come between 2:00PM and 3:00PM. When she went there, she noticed that the gym was empty, with no trainees or workers in sight. He asked her to enter one of the rooms to take measurements of her body and identify the weaknesses. Then, he began to touch her body inappropriately. She pushed him with both hands and told him she was not comfortable with what he was doing.
He then asked her to take off her clothes, but she refused. He tried to take them off by force and continued to assault her, the girl went home and told her mother who reported the incident to the police.
