Asian man on trial for stealing from passengers at the airport

A 30-year-old Asian man was referred to court by the public prosecutor after being interrogated on charges of stealing from people’s luggage at a UAE airport. The defendant’s reason for his crimes was that he was “hungry and looking for biscuits” in the bags.

Case details reveal that the surveillance cameras showed the accused taking advantage of an unlocked bag to enter his hand and explore its contents. He stole some of them such as a mobile phone, which he sold for AED150. He also stole another AED 80 from another bag, a piece of biscuits and a chocolate bar.
