WAM Director General hails level of cooperation between WAM and Malaysian media institutions

Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), has hailed the existing cooperation level between WAM and various Malaysian media institutions in the fields of press, radio and television, digital platforms, printing and publishing companies, media production and e-marketing.

He stressed that the coming period will witness more cooperation between the two sides to achieve the common interest.

Al Rayssi made this statement while leading a media delegation from WAM which included Abdullah Abdul Kareem, Acting Executive Director for News Content at WAM, during his visit to several Malaysian media establishments from 22nd to 24th August, 2022, on an official invitation by the Malaysian side.

During the visit, the WAM delegation met with several Malaysian officials from the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), the Astro Awani, Media Prima, New Straits Times, Sin Chew Daily, and TV AlHijrah.

Al Rayssi highlighted WAM’s role in meeting the needs of a wide range of Malaysian citizens residing in the UAE and around the world by presenting news and other diversified media and digital content in the Malay language.

He then invited the Malaysian officials to participate in the first edition of the Global Media Congress organised by the Abu Dhabi Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), in partnership with WAM in Abu Dhabi from 15th to 17th November, 2022.

The congress will feature a conference and an exhibition, with various media speakers and key international media industry establishments in attendance.

It will also be a pioneering platform for facilitating the signing of strategic agreements and commercial deals between local, regional and international media establishments, which will have the opportunity to discuss key topics, such as digital communications, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies and media innovation.

The Malaysian side emphasised the importance of the Global Media Congress given the huge international participation in it and the diversity of content and issues it will discuss.
