RAK: Driver’s dead body found after he drowned 5 days ago

The dead body of a 53-year-old Arab truck driver who was trying to cross Al Qur Valley during the heavy rains but was washed away by the strong water current 5 days ago was found this morning,  1.5 kilometers from the site of the accident, and at a depth of 7 meters from the valley lake.

It was reported that a flood led his vehicle drifting in the valley, therefore the truck driver, who was alone, jumped out of the vehicle and tried to reach the land, but couldn’t make it.

According to Lt Col Majid Al Naqbi, chief of the Manei police station, the center had received a report from the operations room of the General Directorate of Ras Al-Khaimah Police on Tuesday 16 October that a person had drowned after an accident in the vallye. Police patrols, along with land and marine search and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene of the incident, and were assisted Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah’s land and marine search and rescue teams.
