UAE’s Faisal Al Zaabi wins silver at IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championships

Emirati powerlifter Faisal Al Ghais Al Zaabi secured a silver medal in the 95 kg category today at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Masters Powerlifting Championships, currently held in Sun City, South Africa. This achievement marks his fourth medal at the World Championships, adding to his previous victories of one gold in Finland and two silver medals in Sweden.

Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Marri, Secretary-General of the UAE Federation, highlighted that Al Zaabi’s victory reflects the growing status of powerlifting in the UAE, as the country continues to make strides in this sport on the global stage.

The IPF World Masters Powerlifting Championships, running from 5th to 13th October, features veteran powerlifters competing in various categories, with a strong focus on both classic and equipped lifting disciplines. This annual competition brings together athletes aged 40 and above, showcasing a mix of strength and resilience as they vie for international recognition.
