Dubai: Three men on trial for locking up prostitute, and causing her death

The Court of First Instance charge three Uzbek men, aged between 24 and 35 on Sunday, for locking up a prostitute inside a hotel room, preventing her to escape, and causing her death.

The Arab prostitute was brought to their hotel room where they later disagreed on the money. They assaulted her and stole Dh2,300 from her, after which she tried to climb into another balcony but her foot slipped and fell to death.

The men were charged with illegal confinement of the victim that led to her death, theft, illicit consensual sex and unlicenced consumption alcohol.

The incident was reported to Al Qusais police station when it took place back in November, 2017.The forensic report of the victim showed the cause of death was severe injuries in the head, chest and abdomen, limbs, bone fractures and heavy internal bleeding.

The defendants admitted to illicit sex and alcohol charges, claiming they stole the victim’s money after she backed out on her agreement with them. Their trial has been adjourned to April 17.
