Sharjah Criminal Court received a case in which an Arab young man was charged with assaulting a woman of Asian nationality, and resisting police while trying to arrest him.
The witness in the case, who works for Sharjah Police, said he had received a report of a fight in the Al-Majaz district in Sharjah. He went to the location and found the defendant in an abnormal condition, assaulting an Asian woman. While trying to restrain him, the defendant resisted and assaulted the police officer, refusing to get in the police car.
The witness stated that he did not file a complaint against the accused, and did not have any demands, since he was not hurt, and was not harmed by the resistance of the accused.
The defendant stated that he could not remember his actions, because he was drunk, noting that he only remembered breaking the glass of the police car.
judgment on the case will be on the 16th of January.
