An Emirati doctor, Abdullah Rawah, a consultant in cardiothoracic surgery in the United Kingdom, vice president of Lugano University in Switzerland and director of the London Coroner Cardiac Surgery Program, generously stated that he will perform 100 free surgeries for poor children in order to thank Pope Francis for his historic visit, in an act that reflects the meaning of tolerance and humanitarian cooperation, and coincides with the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to the UAE.
“I will increase the number of charity surgeries I perform every year to 100 to help the poor and needy children,” UAE doctor Abdullah Rawah said in an interview published in the Italian newspaper El Mistereio. “We are grateful to Pope Francis, who knows how to build bridges and create paths of dialogue with others, a rare example and a wonderful model I want to revive.”
