RAK: Radars placed along Jebel Jais road

The General Directorate of Ras Al Khaimah Police announced that new radar devices have been installed along the road leading to Jebel Jais, and called on all motorists to comply with the specified speeds and not to exceed them.
Brigadier General Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al Humaidi, Director General of Central Operations, Ras Al Khaimah Police, said that the police are monitoring those who drive at excessive speeds, exposing themselves and other motorists to the risk of injuries and deaths.
He added that “One method by which police help reduce speeding is installing radars along the most vital roads of the city, or those that see the highest number of speeding violations. This includes the road leading to Jebel Jais.”
He pointed out that the placement of the devices on this road comes as the site is witnessing a great turnout throughout the year, which increases during the winter, during which the region is experiencing rain and cold and the great decrease in temperature, leading to people frequently reaching the top of the mountain.
He stressed that besides these devices, the Ras Al Khaimah police will not tolerate the violators and will apply traffic laws, calling on all drivers to strictly abide by the regulations to preserve lives and property in addition to the distinctive tourism character of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
